: My toilet has filled to the brim, and won't go down. I am VERY inept when it comes to plumbing. What do I do? If I plunge it, it will splash everywhere. I'm very grossed out right now.

The water should go down in a bit.
The way to plunge yours would be to put the plunger down and slightly vibrate it up and down, and then pull out. Often times, it will pull back the blockage and ,Whoosh, it all goes down.
