If you increase the air pressure (how much depends on what the starting pressure is), and it has to be done while the tank is empty of water and on an open system, you will not increase the water pressure but will make the pump run more often. To increase the pressure you have to adjust the control switch. : I notice that my 'ho lding' tank has a what looks like an air nipple on the top. Is increasing the water pressure as easy as adding air to the tank? Sorry to sound so stupid, but ..... Any follow-up is appreciated.
