: I have heard conflicting info RE using Plumbers Putty vs. Silicone Caulk on a Corian surface when installing the faucet/drain. One source said the Putty would turn Corian black and make it brittle. Any comments or experiences would be appreciated.

I've heard the same thing. Putty does the same thing to the other molded countertops too.

I do use putty on china, and porcelain coated steel.

Silicone is the best bet for the molded sinks. Terry
