The presssure is adequate. In your case, a larger one probably was not necessary, but there is no problem with oversizing it. : my little expansion tank went bad on my hot water heater. i got a new larger one today at Lowe's. anyway, it says it has a precharge pressure of 40psi, and max pressure is 150psi. : can i just put it on as-is, or do i have to first pump it to a certain pressure? : also, is there any advantage to me having gotten a larger one, or would a little one have done the job just fine? i have a 40 gallon water heater. : thanks, : mark
