|In response to Re: leak under slab , want to replumb the house and don't know how|
First contact a LICENSED leak detection service to pinpoint the area where the leak is. Second take up the carpet and pad and mark the concrete to make a hole large enough to dig down to the line, which is probably twenty four inches square and twenty inches deep. Third rent an electric jackhammer to cut through the concrete and reinforcing steel. Fourth break and remove the concrete into a plastic bucket and haul it outside. Fifth cut the vapor barrier at the lower side of the concrete neatly to allow repair later. Sixth remove the soil into a plastic bucket and take it outside. Seventh find out which direction the pipe is travelling, and if it is the pipe body itself, or a fitting that is leaking. Eighth Call a LICENSED plumber to come make an estimate to repair the pipe and evaluate it for a complete repipe.
If you do the majority of the heavy labor that isn't plumbing, you can save yourself considerable expense.
