In response to Re: pin hole leaks in copper water pipes
: We have had 3 pin hole leaks in the water system in a seven year old home. Recently we noticed the electrical system was grounded to the cold water supply from the well. There are also two other ground points to the water pipes in the home.
: Do you have any ideas about the cause of the problem?
: Thanks for your help.

The electrical ground to the water pipes is normal.
My guess is that a cheaper thin walled copper pipe
was used in your home and is reacting to the well water
causing the pin hole leaks. There are different grades
of copper tubing and well water is very tough on plumbing
pipes and fixtures. If the joints were not properly soldered
or the wrong kind of solder was used could also cause problems.
I'm not a plumber and my opinion is based only on my past experiences
working with copper tubing.

Good luck!
