Any ideas for a temporary insert over a bathtub cutout ?

My mother recently moved into a senior citizen apartment complex. Her bathroom has a "easy step-in" cutout in the bathtub for safety. It works great when she takes a shower, but sometimes she just "wants to soak in the tub". Any ideas for something (water-tight and lightweight) that she could set over the cut-out for a bath would be most appreciated ! Thanks in advance ! Tom D
