Moving basement toilet on slab - planing stage
Posted by cord on November 19, 2001 at 17:58:49:
I have a basement with the toilet and shower drain pipes already in the slab. My wife wants the toilet etc. on the other side of the wall from where they are now, about 36" away. I don't mind raising the toilet and shower so as not to jackhammer the slab etc.

The easiest thing for me to do would be to run the drain pipes down the existing drains in the slab. The problem, as I see it is that, since the existiing drains go back to the vent stack this would really mean a 180 degree turn and a distance before the main stack is reached of over 4 feet. Does this violate a bacic rule of pumbing? Or is it doable. Thanks in advance for your opionion.
