Solvang California has water that is more mineral than water (up to 45 grains per gallon) and most people here have water softeners. We would like to keep our plumbing from turning into a calcium/magnesium mess but are very much opposed to dumping the required amount of salt brine down the drain (90 gallons every few days) to save our pipes. I have read about magnetic and semiprecious metal water "Conditioners" on the web, but have not found any convincing scientific test results. Do magnetic conditioners really work? Or are they really too good to be true? |
