I agree with csmoney. Don't waste your time unless your going to get it inspected. I've had several for 20+ years and no problem. : I would just ditch the air-gap all together, run the hose from the dishwasher high up as far as possible to the underside of the counter top. I used this set-up for 20 years with no problems...hop this helps : : We have just had our new house completed, and have a nice porcelan 4 hole sink with nice fixtures. The problem is, that the code required airgap/ overflow protector uses one of these holes that we would like to install an instant hot water dispenser into. What can we do to remove this air gap, without causing a potential risk?
