Sewage Ejector Pump

I have an ejector pump that just started running constantly, after a sewer rodding and a "jetting" of the town's sewer lines on our street. Questions: 1) Will the pump overheat and/or burn out if I don't get it addressed until tonight? 2) What is the most probable cause of the constant cycling - a bad check valve or a bad/misaligned float switch? Thank you!!!
