Crack in joint between flange and drain

Because of leak around the toilet bowl, we planned to replace vinyl with ceramic tiles. However, after removing toilet bowl system, I discovered that there was a crack about 2 inches long (horizontal) in what appears to be lead(?) that joins the brass toilet flange and the metal drain (the source of the leak). There are no bolts or screws that support the flange. Even with ceramic tiles (I have concrete floors), the bottom of the flange will still be atop the tile. Is there any substance or join compounds that I can use to patch the leak without removing the flange? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you. Penny
