It sounds like undersized piping. Make sure the main is opened, make sure the feed to the hot water heater is opened. Years ago people had this
problem if someone flushed the toilet while they
were taking a shower, the cold water would slow down and the water would get really hot or the shower would almost stop. They same with running washers when people would be showering. Just a guess from here.
: We moved into our house about one year ago. We can only get hot water at one faucet at a time. If a second hot water faucet is turned on, the hot water at the first faucet disappears. What could be causing this? I know that our gas hot water heater is fairly old (18 years!). The house itself is over 100 years old. Our home inspection revealed that some of the plumbing pipes were replaced recently.
