: We moved into our house about one year ago. We can only get hot water at one faucet at a time. If a second hot water faucet is turned on, the hot water at the first faucet disappears. What could be causing this? I know that our gas hot water heater is fairly old (18 years!). The house itself is over 100 years old. Our home inspection revealed that some of the plumbing pipes were replaced recently.

Meridith,
If the home is that old, you should look at the entire plumbing system. From the water source, (meter, pump..) You will need to have a properly sized system with good flowing pipes. Terry
