|In response to Re: Cast iron vs PVC|
Does your sewer line clog often? Why would a well digger even care about you cast iron pipe?
When it fails, then look into PVC. Why fix it if it's not broke. Just my opinion.
: I have cast iron plumbing in my house, which was built in 1943. A representative of a local, well-respected well-drilling company was here checking my water pump and suggested that I consider upgrading the cast iron pipes to PVC piping as the cast iron is pretty old and in bad shape. (He is NOT in that business and would NOT do the work.) Does this make sense to others? I know nothing about this stuff but just read in another posting here that PVC is banned in (at least parts of)California...?? I live in southern New Jersey. Thanks!
