cracked floor on fibreglas shower enclosure

Since the floor on our 4'x3'shower enclosure cracked last year, we sealed it and of course, its leaking again. We're not sure how much water damage has been done to the floorboards. We'd like to do a major bathroom remodeling in a few years, so what do you recommend as a solution for our problem. Do I need to replace the entire shower enclosure (it is presently a one-piece) or can I simply replace the base? Can I have ceramic tile placed on the floor and joining the sides of the fibreglas wall surround by cutting the old fibreglas floor out. Should I just bite the bullet and get a tile shower put in place and build the new bathroom around it? Help!!
Two contractors (one a tileman and the other general) said a tile floor adjoining the fibreglass surround could not be sealed properly and they would not guarantee that the wall surround would not separate from the wall. Help!! I need more advice.
