I am installing a whirlpool tub in the basement bath, while finishing the basement. The drains through the concrete floor were installed at construction. At the time of construction we planned on putting a shower and the contractors left a hole in the concrete to place the shower and trap. No we have decided to put a whirlpool tub instead of the shower. Can I run my drain line, from the tub along the wall and into the whole, placing the trap there, assuming enough room for the trap? I have also considered raising the floor under the tub in order to put the trap. How much space under the tub will I need for the drain line and trap? Thanks.
