Adjusting well pump switch pressure

The pump in the well we share with our neighbors is controlled by a Square D PumpTroll Class 9013 Ser B Type FSG2 switch. The listed On pressure is 40, and the Off pressure is 60. The pressure tank in the well house is rated for up to 75. My neighbor is complaining about inadequate pressure, and says a plumber suggested he raise the pressure range from 40/60 to 50/70. Is this switch supposed to be adjustable that far? Would you recommend adjusting it that far? We expect the two spring-loaded screws on the side of the switch are for adjustment, and were able to get the pump to pressurize up to 70 by messing with the screws, but the pump still doesn't kick in until pressure drops to 40. We stopped fiddling before we broke something.
