|In response to Re: Problems flushing toilet|
Unless you also have a sewer obstruction, it is not a vent problem. Try flushing the toilet with a bucket of water. If that flushes it properly, then you have a toilet problem and need a good plumber to check it out to see if it can be fixed.
: We have had an intermittent lazy flush problem for years (the water will just fill up and swirl around a little bit) and tonight the toilet overflowed 3 times in a row. Last week we pulled the toilet, snaked it, flushed it out with a water hose. The toilet didn't seem like it had any restrictions at all. While the toilet was out I took the opportunity to pour a 5 gal bucket of water down the floor drain pipe. There was no backup at all. I am considering snaking my vent pipe but I wanted to run it by you guys first to see if you had any ideas. BTW, I don't really have a snake big enough for the vent pipe. What do you guys recommend (a water hose, just a small snake, etc)? Thanks!
