|In response to Re: shower diverter|
: I have a tub with a shower the diverter for the shower is on the tub faucet, to change it to go to the shower the diverter does not divert, the water comes out of the faucet and dribbles out of the shower head. I would like to know if i just need to replace the faucet with the diverter? If this is the case does the faucet just screw off? Is there any suggestions as how to get this off easily? Please advise. This is in an older home and I do not know what the brand of fixture this is?
It could be the diverter is missing parts. You may need to remove the diverter and take it to a hardware store to match it with the fittings there. This all takes time, and sometimes, it seems easier in the long run, to replace the faucet with new pressure balanced faucet, the kind you can get parts for. (anything over 30 years is getting kinda chancey)
