Sewage Ejector

The previous owner of my home did a wonderful self-install of a sewage ejector system. He apparently couldn't figure out what the vent hole was for, so he covered it with duct tape. Of course, now when my pump runs, I have wonderful smells in my basement. Unfortunately, I don't have a good vent to tap into for venting this thing to the roof. I did find one vent (from a bath tub) that I can get to without tearing out walls. This vent is about 10 feet away (horizontally) from the cap in the sewage ejector tank. Does anyone see a problem with using this? Thanks for any help!
