In response to Re: Solenoid valve
It this could be needed for fire fighting at some time in the future, then you should use a motorized valve that will allow a greater flow through the pipe.

: Some added information:

: We have a small private community marina (30 boats)that has a unused standing fire piping supply system on the docks. We plan to use it to supply water for washing our boats. However because of some flexible joints in the piping (for tide changes) there is always a possibility of an unmonitored leak. So we want to put a dial timer on a solenoid valve so that the water is normally off unless someone sets the timer. The pipe in 2 in ID (I believe this is called 2 1/2 inch pipe) and 110 VAC is available close by.

: Any help in finding an approprate Seloniod Valve or and other advice would be greatly appreciated.
