Tub drains into kitchen via the light in the ceiling

There has been what I believe to be a hair clog in my tub drain for some time. I poured a drain cleaner recommended for hair down the drain. The tub would still drain very slow. It has been a couple of weeks now, and yesterday the kitchen began leaking profusely. I wonder if the drain cleaner could have eaten through the pipes. This message is preliminary to any work I am going to do. I just wanted a bit of advice... Should I even attempt to fix this problem by going into the floor, through the ceiling, or should I just get a professional? There is an access panel in an adjoining room, but from the location of the water coming through the ceiling, I would say that the leak is coming from directly underneath the tub. I appreciate any comments on this problem, as I have no knowledge of this yet. Thanks.
