I am in the process of buying an antique house which I just discovered has a very antique furnace (was for coal originally and was long ago converted to oil). The inspector thought I might get a few years out of it, but it is extremely inefficient. Since I live in New England, this is a concern. Can anyone give me a ROUGH feel for what it would cost to replace the system? Is it $1000, $5000, $10,000 -- more? The house is 2400 square feet, two stories, has tankless hot water now. Any rough ideas -- soon -- would be much appreciated! Thanks! (Love your site. Definitely a great resource -- glad I found it!) |
