I'm installing a new toilet, the old closet flange is long gone before I even owned the house someone had started the remodel. When instlaling the closet flange do I use cement? I have seen mention of the old closet flanges being soldered to cast iron pipes, but I have yet to find any mention of glueing the plactic flanges in place. I have only seen mention of fastening the flange to the floor. Although it seems like the wax ring would seal, if would seem to me if you had a back up water would be able to run over the outside of the flange? |
