backflow preventer on a frostproof sillcock leaks

The backflow preventer on a frostproof sillcock started leaking when I put an electronic timer on the spigot. When I pull off the cap of the backflow preventer on top I can see a clear O-ring in the center that has come loose. Lowes said to bring it back in for replacement but that will take a while to get it off out of the wall. Is there any way to fix it while still on wall? It is a Mueller/BK 10" I purchased at Lowes a month ago.
