In response to Re: Condensation on Copper Pipes In Basement

: We recently have had a house built for us. We are on a septic system and well. The problem I am having is with condensation on the copper pipes in the basement. When we run water for any prolonged period (eg. watering the grass) we get an excessive amount of condensation building up. So much so, that it is dripping on our furniture. I am in the process of finishing the basement and I am reluctant to cover up the ceiling until I have fixed the problem.

: Any thoughts? De-Humidifier??? Air-Exchanger??

Keith,
I would insulate the pipes. Some closed cell foam 1/2" or 3/8" with the self stick should do it. Terry
