Shower Drain Leak

My shower is leaking between the screen housing and the bottom of the fiberglass shower unit. I have replaced the screen housing, cleaned all surfaces and reapplied plumbers putty. This seem to take care of the leak for 2 to 3 weeks. Then I will notice a drop or two of water on the basement floor after I have taken a shower. The both the nut on the bottom of the shower and the nut on the top side of the screen housing are very tight. SF
