: I'm replacing a shower that has a soldered copper drain connection. When I sweat this connection, do I have to take any special precautions? Isn't sewer gas flammable?

It is? I mean I suppose you could light it up, but I've never seen it happen before. It would be one smelly job if there was enough gas to light up with a torch.
