Using a Water Heater as a Home heating source

I saw a story on "This Old House Classics", of using a standard water heater as a source for home heating. They cycled the water from the water heater through some type of heat exchanger and a blower. Does anyone know how to accomplish this and where to get information on the parts needed to do this?
