Recommendation on Water Heater

I am currently looking to replace my 40 gallon Rheem Water heater. Which brand of Water Heater do you recommend? Also, is it more expensive to buy and install from PSE&G in New Jersey or a Store like Home Depot or Lowes. Thank-You for answering my question.
