Comments:: : Since their house is right next to the river they'll have lots of water if they drilled a well. They would be much better off drilling a well for the cost of one years worth of water bill and then pump that less than 20,000 gallons per day with their own well. Their electric bill would be a lot less than their annual water bill and no one would complain about their extravagance for their landscaping watering.: : And maybe Terry ought to go over to their house and offer to fix their running toilets.: Plumbnet,: The Gates mansion on Lake Washington could pump from the lake or from a well if it were to get government approval for the water rights. It would seem more logical to use that water though, than the water from the local water-shed.: I would be glad to check on their toilets to see if they are leaking water. It's got to be one heck of a leak though. : It's funny about the water problems in Seattle though. My father had a permit for another water source for the eastside in the sixties. The city of Seattle, long range planners that they were, seemed to think they had all the water anyone would ever need. It was their insistence that the Bellevue plan for more water not be put in place. Were they thinking of a forty year plan at the time, or did they just think that the world would end in 2000?
