Installing a dry well

I am planning on building a brick patio in my back yard and I have a roof drain down spout that would come down right where the path to the patio will be.
Not only would the spout be in the way, but i don't want rain water running accross the path.
The area where the spout discharges is low anyway and when it rains alot there is a lot of standing water.
I was thinking of installing a dry well in this location so that I could run the down spout underground at this location and to the dry well.
The soil is sandy in this location. The area of the roof being collected by this roof drain is approx. 400 sq. ft. I live in Minnesota and we get a fair amount of rain. Could you please answer a couple of questions.

1. Is this a feasible idea to get the down spout out of the way?
2. How big would the dry well need to be?
3. Are there any details available on how to construct a dry well. (dimensions, construction, size, depth etc.) I would like to keep it as simple as possible.

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Joel Kaufmann
