: I am installing a pedestal sink. I am using hard piping (pardon me if I don't use the correct lingo), 3/8" from the shutoff to the faucet.

: I am using the type of supply line that is chromed copper, with a "ball" on the faucet end, and using a brass nut to attach it to the faucet inlet.
: I am using teflon tape on the threads. The problem is both hot and cold leak just a bit from the top of the nut that connects the supply to the inlet,

Try it again without any Teflon tape. Solid risers with the ball end, seal between the ball and the threaded socket of the faucet . The nut pulls up tight. Teflon tape serves no purpose here except to get in the way and create leaks.
