We are in the midst of the same project right now. It took a long time and still isn't done (the tile isn't down so the sink and toilet aren't in yet) but I believe it will be well worth it when it's all over. The two teeny bathrooms were a joke, and the new one will be just about luxurious! We don't have downstairs neighbors, but it was definitely noisy for the people on either side. We tried to work during the day for the loud stuff. Good luck!
