Get the ejector pump check valve which has a rubber flap. It may still bang, but it should be a lot less. The hole in the pipe is to avoid air lock not to get rid of the bang. : I installed a sewage ejection pump system in my basement to move waste water from a baseroom up about 8 ft to the main drain. When the pump is done, there is a loud banging noise and kickback on the drain. I did install the a check valve and per the instructions on the pump, I drilled a 1/4 inch whole in the drain pipe just above the pump. What can I do to end the nosie?
