Two weeks ago, the water pressure in our house increased significantly. None of my neighbors noticed any increase in pressure. I tried to adjust the pressure by tightening the set screw on the Honeywell Braukmann D07 Pressure Regulator Valve. We are connected to city water.
1) How do I stop the leaking from around the set screw? I have tightened the locking nut at tight as possible, but there is a steady drip. I have turned off the water to our house because the drip is too much.
2) What would cause the sudden change in pressure increase from the regulator? Is it broken?
3) Should I replace the Pressure Regulating Valve?
