You can do either, but tiling the concrete will be the best way, if you are using ceramic tile. If non-ceramic, be sure that the tile and cement is for use on below grade floors. : We had our builder rough-in a bathroom in our basement and now we want to finish it. We are going to use tile for the bathroom floor. Can I put the tile directly on the poured concrete or do I have to install a subfloor before I do the tiling and the toilet? : Thanks
