Unless the disposer is fairly new, this is a symptom of a failing Badger disposer. When corrosion builds up, the openings become closed off and water cannot drain properly. : I have a Badger 5 !\2 hrspwr insinkerator. My problem is when the dishwasher empties into it- the water will not drain untill I turn the insikerator on. Once on- it drains quickly. It also will not drain if the water is turned on; and same as before it drains quickly when insinkerator is on. Is this part of its regular operation or should it drain without the insinkerator on?
