debbie:--The drip..drip..drip that you hear when the shower is in use could be the noise made by a copper pipe as it expands when hot water is being used. This is a very common occurence and the source of much anxiety. An easy way to determine if this is the case is to have some one spray the inside of the shower stall with a garden hose to simulate a normal shower scenario, while you listen for the dripping.
If there is no dripping sounds, open the hot water side of the shower valve, and see if that causes the dripping sound after it has been on a short time.
If it is the piping, it can be corrected by using plastic pipe straps on the offending section of copper tubing.
