TK:--Using bread to stem the flow of water in order to make repairs that require soldering on copper piping has been around since I was a pup. White bread will do if that is all that is available. My personal favorite is Pumpernickle. If you are going to be working in an Orthadox Jewish family home, I would suggest a good Kosher Jewish Rye Bread with carraway seeds. There are other less imaginitive ways to accomplish the same end..but you must remember mans'basic need for self expression is important too....Bud
