TK:--If your closet bend is roughed in properly for the the toilet that you will be using, wrap the stub with cardboard and duct tape..enough to provide clearance for the flange. When the tile work is completed...remove the tape and cardboard wrapper and determine if the outside dimensions of the flange will allow it to slide down the closet bend stub so it will rest flat on the finished tile floor(be sure the plywood sub flooring will allow the flange to pass. If every thing is in order..position the flange so that the closet bolts will be where they need to be and cement it. When the glue is set, simply cut off the pipe that extends above the flange with a hack saw. Plug the hole with a large rag or cover to prevent sewer gas to enter or keep things from falling in until your ready to set the toilet.
