You can only rod them by removing the cover. There is no way to guide the rod into the outlet pipe once it enters the trap from the tub. : : I have a tub drain that has a drum trap (the drum trap is approx 30 yrs old). It is clogged and I am looking for any suggestions to remedy this situation. I read the only topic posted here about drum traps and you suggested NOT using a snake with this type of trap. : Ben, Can you get the top off the trap? I personnally would cut it out and replace the trap with a p-trap.I don't know what it may require to do this as i am not there. You may not have a choice in this matter.I got a cable wound up in a drum trap in a concrete slab..guess what....new trap.
