: If I remember the inspector's numbers correctly, our new house (actually 50 yrs old) has water pressure : of about 80. He said it was a bit high, and that we could install a valve to lower the pressure, but didn't : seem overly concerned. : What are the implications of high water pressure, and what is involved in installing this valve? The inspector recomended a PRV as the code states no more than 80 lbs in a home. If you install one then put an expansion tank on the cold water inlet to the water heater.
