They both told you the same thing. They just used different words. That is the usual way of connecting a dishwasher in my area. : I have a 5 year old GE dishwasher. I currently have an air gap through my sink, but I am replacing the sink and there will not be a hole for the air gap. One plumber told me the dishwasher drain line can be run along under the counter top and then down to the disposal. The place where I bought the sink said to make a loop with the DW drain. Are these methods or any others adequate or will I have to cut a hole in the countertop? I really hate that ugly thing sticking up. I have my own well and septic tank, if it makes any difference.
