|In response to Re: Chip in fiberglass tub, repair?|
: I recently put in a fiberglass whirlpool tub. I set it in mortar so it would be stable. The problem is that the
: tub has a small chip in it on the inside bottom. It is a very small chip but it is a brand new tub
: and I would like to fix it. Is there anyway I can fix this or should I return the tub. If I did the latter I would
: have to pull it out of the hardened mortar. Thanks in advance.
Good news Mark. You will not have to return the tub nor will you have to un-install then re-install the tub. Check out your local yellow pages for bathtub repair. Some companies specificly state fiberglass repair. The repair can be done on site. The cost varies depending on how deep the chip is, length and color of tub. How did the chip get there? Was this something that you, the homeowner is responsiable for or did the tub come like it is. Maybe damaged in shipping or even possiabily by a plumber? I ask because maybe you could have the repair done at no cost to you. Good Luck.
