: : First, Id like to thank you for providing this service. A tenant dropped a deodorant stick down the toilet while flushing. He tried plunging and did not inform us for a month. We removed the toilet and retrieved the object. Since then, he complained of the toilet running slow. He also said the water did not stay in the toilet bowl. We rented a 100 foot power snake and removed the toilet and snaked it the full 100 feet. Within a week, he said it is doing the same thing again. I would appreciate any advice you have as to what the problem is, and what we need to fix it. Thank you. Kim

: Kim, Are you on city sewer? Did you have enough cable to run the entire distance from the toilet to the city main? Make sure the fill tube is inside the overflo tube. Pull the toilet and use a garden hose to put water in the closet bend and see if it eventually fills and then drains slowley. Hope this helps. Dale's Plumbing Service LMP

It does sound like a leaking bowl. If that is the case,it would be better to replace it than the floor. Taking the toilet outside like Dale says and testing it in the yard sounds like a good idea. Terry
