Humming pipes when toliet flushes

My problem is, if water is presently running ie. dishwasher,shower etc. or both toliets in the house are flushed within minutes of each other the pipes in the downstairs bathroom let out a very loud humming sound. This humming will continue until the downstairs toilet has refilled or if you turn on the cold water facuet in the downstairs sink the sound is still there however not as loud. How can I stop this loud humming it is very annoying when you have company. PS if has more frequently in the summer months and I do not know if this is a factor or not. Thanking you in advance for your reply.
