|In response to Re: Pipe noises|
: I listened to the noise again and it is more of a humming rather than a thumping.
: : : Several months back we started hearing noises in pipes after water was turned off. This happened even when clothes washer and dishwasher quit filling. Plumber came, told us to turn down hot water temperature and then installed some kind of a box to regular something.
: : : I still have the noise, but not quite as bad. The sound doesn't last as long. It is a kind of thumping.
Check the box that the plumber installed. Is it a pressure reducer? Sometimes you can move the adjustment up and down to let the debries pass through the seat of the valve. It could be a noise making pressure reducing valve. Terry
