Is this OK? Not really. Will you damage the sink? Probably. Cast iron is a very hard material and the enamel is also hard, but prone to chipping. You need a carbide tipped drill, and a carbide hole saw, a slow speed drill, and some luck. I would install a new 3 hole type faucet with spray if you are the the least bit concerned about damaging the sink. : I want to drill a hole in a cast iron sink to install an instant hot water dispenser (I've already got a sprayer in the other hole). I was assuming that I would use a bimetal hole saw for the job. Is this ok? or am I going to damage the sink?
